Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Pristine Tasmania

Region: Freycinet Coast, Tasmania

Craigie Knowe is the oldest vineyard on Tasmania’s east coast. Located on the beautiful Freycinet coast, with its own micro-climate and rich volcanic soils, it was established in 1979 by Hobart dentist John Austwick and quickly became known for its outstanding wines – the Bordeaux blend Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Pinot Noir.

Tasmanians Glenn and Sandy Travers took over in 2013. Following in John’s footsteps, they have taken a hands-on approach to ensure the utmost quality, with manual pruning and hand harvesting. Craigie Knowe wines reflect the area’s pristine environment, minimal intervention and manual, small batch winemaking.

“Our philosophy is to grow exceptional fruit so our winemaker can weave his magic with minimal intervention. We do this by being meticulous in the vineyard …..the little things really do make a difference” Glenn Travers
