This single vineyard wine is a barrel selection and comes from the oldest plantings which date back to 1970. These gnarly, dry-grown vines are low-yielding and produce smaller berries with concentrated flavours and tannins.
Matured in new and seasoned French oak for 18 months, this wine is powerful yet elegant with layers of dark berry, mocha and spice on the palate which are integrated by the toasted spices offered by the oak. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Only 191 dozen made.
