2016 vintage conditions were extremely hot with prolonged periods of dry weather. In an unprecedented February harvest, the vines produced less than a tonne of fruit per acre. The quality, however, was outstanding and is reflected in this spicy, fruit rich wine. The grapes were handpicked and matured for 12 months before selected parcels of young fruit were blended with wine from 40 year old vines to achieve intense fruit flavour, depth and character.
